The familiar environments surrounding a society projects itself onto its citizens and it is this outward emanation from environment to individual or collective that provides the subject matter for the work of Susannah King. Her practice sits between the boundaries of photography and drawing and her preferred environment to document is the expanded territory of the garden. King's work is engaged with making representations from these real locations to produce a disrupted account of reality - moving the actual into the realm of the imaginary and back again.
